Premium Plus Insurance is a scam
I've rented a car with the Green Motion Premium Plus Package for "total peace of mind and convenience" as advertised on their website. When returning the car, it had a minor damage and the rental company charged my cc for it. Which of course is totally fine. And if this is somehow not covered by the Premium Plus Package I'm totally fine with it as well, but Green Motion is categorically ignoring my e-mails regarding this topic. In my book that makes you an unreliable company. So better book your insurance directly with the rental company.

Staff are helpful and good price
It took less than 10 mins to get the paperwork checked and drive. Make sure you read all terms and conditions when you book online (some of these terms are in a link) where you are required to bring certain documents or else will have to pay extra fees

What a mess….
First of all you need to be picked up which took about half an hour to find out where it was in NewCastle, than after half an hour a person appeared, should be 10 minutes as told. Than we ran into some issues with the key of the property of the car (garage) was lost, this took about 30 minutes as well. Than it appeared that we made the reservation with booking.com which was out of system and needed to re-enter the booking, this was 60 gbp but got discount due to the key issue… what a mess…..never ever again and fully in line with the other similar findings within trustpilot experience database.

The worst experience I've received
The worst experience I've received. From start to finish this was awful. Didn't pick us up from Kings Cross (as promised), we had to get a taxi to their HQ in Edgware Road. No apology for that. I'm not the type to write a review but feel its necessary so people are aware of what they are getting into when choosing this service.
I've read other reviews and can confirm, they do not tell you about the credit card (circa £1200 deposit) vs debit card (circa £400) terms. If you then go with debit like I did, it was about 25% more expensive. 3 business days in and I still haven't received my £400 deposit.
They were rude, unhelpful and unapologetic when dealing with any of the issues they had brought on.
I urge you not to use this company. And read the other reviews, they are so similar.

TL ;DR : a well-organised scam that will make you lose time & money. Do not get attracted by cheap prices or staff member friendliness. And do not trust most of 5-star reviews as they are fake.
In the first place, please read the article from the Guardian about Green Motion. The scam is well described and documented.
When we arrived at the counter, after travelling with the shuttle (that part was OK) the staff member was nice. Please do not trust him, as he will rip off you as soon as you decide to decline their assurance offer.
We carefully checked the vehicle as we were cautious about that kind of scam, but honestly, the scratches they will charge you for are so tiny, that I think it is almost impossible to detect.
The vehicle was OK, but the inevitable part happened when we came back: as the counter was closed, we parked the car and let the key in the box before taking our plane. The day after, we received an email with an invoice charging us for 350€ for minor scratches. Of course we did not have any incident during the 2-day trip.
We asked for photos and, even though we took our own photos, they identified microscopic damages. The strange part was they moved the vehicle before taking photos. But anyways, you will lose time trying to talk with them, you will lose time trying to get a reimbursement from your credit card, and ultimately, you will also lose money. So please, I know prices are alluring, especially on this period, but at the end, it is clearly an horrible choice.

Very friendly staff
Very friendly staff, go through careful check of the car on pick up. Quick return process of the car. Competitive prices and they don't try to rip you off. Only slight drawback is the location of the office which is a 4-5 minute walk from the arrivals (which is fine unless you have very heavy luggage).

The car was in excellent condition
The car was in excellent condition and we had no issues at all. The rental price was very good value. We waited some time at the office to pick up the car at Hilton Metropole Hotel in London, but the return was very fast and Sean efficiently handled the return procedure.

Nice people, good car. Maybe too small office with a lot of noise and difficulties to understand. But all went well.
